WATER TREATMENT FACILITY AND
INTAKE IMPROVEMENTS

The Town of Bennington initiated a water system evaluation for preparation of a water system master plan and capital improvements plan in July 2000. As a result of the evaluation and subsequent regulatory violations for high disinfection byproducts the Town initiated final design activities for the following:

1.2 MG precast prestressed clearwell. |

Modified corrosion control treatment scheme to correct calcium deficient finished water. |

Reserve space for installation of ultra violet light disinfection. |

Ammonium sulfate feed system for creation of chloramines as secondary disinfection. |

|
Residuals handling thickener and freezing/drying bed. |
|
|
Modified controls, instrumentation and SCADA system. |
The initiation of construction for this project is planned for May of 2004.
