WEST ROAD WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II
MANCHESTER, VERMONT

Engineer checks alignment of major intersection and brook crossing

The Town of Manchester, Vermont initiated the second phase of a water and sewer improvement project in July 2001. The improvements replaced 3,000 linear feet of antiquated 1894 4-inch cast iron water main and 2,000 linear feet of leaking vitrified clay sanitary sewer pipe and reshaped 2,000 linear feet of a heavily traveled bypass of Manchester.

Final design was completed within four months from initiation. The project was completed in 2002.

The improvements continued the comprehensive upgrade of the water system as outlined in a 1984 master plan.
